Nigerian govt doing best to rid Zamfara, others states of bandits – Farouq

July 17, 2020 (NAN) The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Hajiya Sadiya Farouq has said that the Federal Government is poised to rid Zamfara state and others affected states of bandits.


She made this known on Friday when she paid a courtesy visit to the Governor of Zamfara State, Bello Matawalle.


According to a series of instagram posts on her handle @sadiya.farouq, the Minister thanked the governor and the people of Zamfara State for the warm reception accorded her and her team.


She expressed her heart-felt condolences and that of the Federal Government, to the government and the people of Zamfara State over the loss of lives and property as a result of the atrocities being committed by criminals masquerading as bandits in the State.


She assured Gov Matawalle that the Federal Government under the leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari is doing all that can be done to rid Zamfara and other states of the menace of banditry so that people can get back to their normal lives as soon as possible.


The minister also handed over 102 trailer loads of assorted grains meant to cater to 61,538 households as palliatives for distribution to vulnerable persons, elderly and people living with disabilities in the state


As part of activities during her visit, the minister accompanied Gov. Matawalle to Bungudu Local Government Area for the flag off of the payment of Household Uplifting Programme to 130, 764 beneficiaries from six (6) LGAs.


The beneficiaries had been captured in the National Social Register.
