COVID-19: U.S. hits record 5m cases, Brazil over 3m

August 10, 2020 - The United States has recorded over 5million confirmed cases of Covid-19 even as officials assure that an effective vaccine will be available before the end of the year.
The U.S. tops the rest of the World in number of cases with Brazil also grappling with over 3 million cases and counting.
Brazil reported 23,010 new cases and 572 deaths on Sunday bringing its total number of confirmed cases to 3,035,422 and the official death toll to 101,049, according to ministry data.
Brazil, the U.S. and India are some of the countries worst hit by the pandemic with cumulative confirmed cases now over 10 million.
