Gunmen abduct 1 as they attack Pegi Village in FCT

Oct. 8, 2020 - Residents of Pegi village in Kuje Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory FCT Abuja were on Wednesday night thrown into confusion following the invasion of their village by gunmen and the consequent abduction of a yet-to-be-identified man.

Chairman of Pegi Community Development Association PECDA, Mr. Taiwo Aderibigbe who confirmed the incident said the gunmen invaded the village at about 8:10pm, making it the second time the village is being attacked within a month.

Aderibigbe said security operatives had since taken over the road.

Recently, Tonji-maji, a community close to Zubair was attacked with more than 10 residents kidnapped.

An unspecified amount of money was later paid by the community to secure the release of their loved ones.

Residents of the village are however demanding improved security mechanism for the community.
